Pools by Design are proud to construct amazing, award winning pools for our clients. Our high standard of professionalism and quality pool creations have been consistently recognised by SPASA WA since becoming a member. We were extremely proud to be recipients of various awards in recent years, not least, the 2015’s Pool of the Year for the stunning Infinity Edge Pool in Lesmurdie. We are looking forward to continuing to create some of the best concrete pools in Perth and Western Australia in 2018 and beyond.
With its unique design, interesting contours and lines, and palette of materials that perfectly complements the property, this project flawlessly fits the client’s brief for a pool with high aesthetic appeal. The use of contours give this pool an art-deco feel with a modern twist, a fully-mosaiced infinity edge wall which not only curves, but continues out on a forward angle down to the trough base. A second spillover face allows water to cascade into a steel drainage system which then flows back into the main pool. The high attention to detail that has been taken on every aspect of this project is proven in perfectly laid tiles over both spillovers.
This pool represents Pools by Design’s unique approach to residential pool construction- its bespoke design, creative use of finishes and high attention to detail have produced an enviable aquatic masterpiece.

The winner of multiple awards at both the SPASA WA and SPASA Australia awards, the infinity edge pool definitely has the ‘wow factor’ every pool owner desires. The sloping block lends itself perfectly to an infinity edge pool, designed with the breathtaking vista in mind the pool is framed as a central element of the property. Western facing and on the Darling Scarp, the client is able to witness the picturesque sunsets over the city and beyond, the pool can be mistaken for being carved out of the hillside. When in the pool, the infinity edge melts into the view. Natural stone has been used for both the cladding around the pool, internal waterline tile and spill over face, as well as the tiling of the entry steps to ensure the pool harmonises with the landscape.
No expense has been spared in the design and construction of this opulent pool. The pool is the central feature of this luxurious home, fulfilling the dream of our client.Being such a prominent and beautiful feature, the pool has been designed to be visible from every living space. Expansive glass panels have been installed to guarantee the view is not inhibited from anywhere in the house. Utilising this to dramatic effect is the cheese and wine cellar, which shares a unique viewing window constructed within the pool wall.
Another remarkable element is the six person, fully-tiled spill-over spa, which is perfect for relaxing. Both the spa and the pool’s interior features an exotic blend of glass mosaic tiles laced with 24 carat gold leaf inlays, continuing the luxurious and contemporary colour palette used throughout the residence, creating a seamless integration from the indoor to outdoor areas.
Our client’s brief for this design and construct project was to be ‘wowed’. Transforming the dated existing swimming pool into a 16m lap pool with swim out required extensive engineering solutions and significant stabilisation of the boundary retaining walls. Feature LED lighting around the property highlight the pool as the main feature of the landscape, whilst frameless glass fencing ensures the pool zone blends seamlessly with the residence. A large plant room stores all of the pool equipment behind a large feature wall with a cleverly concealed “Alice” door located within the cladding.
Alongside creating a pool which exceeded the client’s expectations, we also designed and constructed the surrounding landscape elements. This included feature decking, paving, benching, planters, balustrading as well as the installation of synthetic grass on a raised terrace seating area.
Pools by Design worked closely with our client during the design of their new property, we tailored the ultimate in luxury resort-style outdoor living. Perfect for entertaining, the pool has been designed to flow seamlessly into the home’s interior through the use of an extensive integrated alfresco area. To further extend the pool’s role, a swim-up bar with customised bar stools allows the party to move comfortably into the pool itself. The 12-metre length of the pool allows the homeowners to maintain their healthy lifestyles and promoting active family fun. Feature piers with integral LED bubblers were installed as well as an extensive infinity edge, LED niche lighting & glass mosaic tiling. Aesthetically, the pool contributes dramatically to the
overall resort theme of this property.
This plunge pool located at the enviable location of the iconic Cottesloe beach front is framed perfectly by the breath-taking canvas of the Indian Ocean. West facing, the pool is ideal for witnessing the extraordinary sunsets this unique location and our wonderful state offers. Frameless glass fencing ensures uninterrupted views, whilst bench seating beckons you to sit and relax in the pool inviting one to soak up the stunning ambience and surrounds. The striking black granite paving and intricate mosaic tile design compliment this feature of the home, to be enjoyed by all.
We worked closely with our client to tie the pool area in with their modern property, as well as creating a functional pool for their young family. Complementing the rest of the property, the pool area uses contemporary clean lines throughout to give a minimalistic effect. A bench along the length of the pool adds to its functionality, meaning our client could utilise the pool for both leisure and to sustain their active lifestyle, whilst frameless glass fencing discreetly integrates the pool with the alfresco area creating an inviting indoor/outdoor living space.
With no expense spared, a resort style pool was created to tie in with the extensive alfresco area and sunrooms which can be described as an entertainers dream. A wet deck was designed and installed, meaning the waterline was at concourse level with the pool surrounds, adding to the overall resort style effect our client desired. Individual water features accentuate the complex shaped pool area, with one running from a glass water wall through channel into the pool and another intricately designed cantilevered glass dining table that delivers a sheet of water back to the pool. A custom designed swim up bar was constructed, with stainless steel stools for our client and their family to sit down and have a drink whilst still enjoying the luxury of their pool.
The stunning landscape perfectly surrounds our clients infinity edge pool & spa combination. Our client chose natural stone for the pool surrounds and spillover face which complements the natural setting. Constructing the pool in an elevated position ensures uninterrupted views of the picturesque estuary from both the pool and spa. Swim jets were installed in the pool which can transform the relaxing area to a virtually endless lap pool for our client to maintain their fitness.
This 6 x 3m courtyard pool reflected our clients’ opulent taste in fixtures and fittings. Constructed prior to the house build, the two areas flow together seamlessly with high quality glass mosaics used throughout the pool to flow from the al fresco area. A flooded sunpod was integrated into the design allowing bathers to laze in the shallow waters. LED lights bask the pool in a deep blue hue, whilst calming waves of reflective light dance throughout the living and outdoor spaces.
