The Floreat

, ,

The client brief for this design and construct project was to be ‘wowed’. Transforming the dated existing swimming pool into a 16m lap pool with swim out required extensive engineering solutions and significant stabilisation of the boundary retaining walls.

Feature LED lighting around the property highlight the pool as the main feature of the landscape, whilst frameless glass fencing ensures the pool zone blends seamlessly with the residence.
A large plant room stores all of the pool equipment behind a large feature wall with a cleverly concealed “Alice” door located within the cladding.

Alongside creating a pool which exceeded the client’s expectations, we also designed and constructed the surrounding landscape elements. This included feature decking, paving, benching, planters, balustrading as well as the installation of synthetic grass on a raised terrace seating area.

The Port Coogee

, ,

Located on an premium block overlooking the Port Coogee marina this impressive tri-level home demanded a pool and spa combination with attention to detail and a high end finish in what can only be described as the Epitome of Opulence.

Being such a prominent and beautiful feature, the pool has been designed to be visible from every living space. Expansive glass panels have been installed to guarantee the view is not inhibited from anywhere in the house. Utilising this to dramatic effect is the cheese and wine cellar, which shares a unique viewing window constructed within the pool wall.

Another remarkable element is the six person, fully-tiled spill-over spa, which is perfect for relaxing. Both the spa and the pool’s interior features an exotic blend of glass mosaic tiles laced with 24 carat gold leaf inlays, continuing the luxurious and contemporary colour palette used throughout the residence. A lane tile to the pool floor maintains your focus and line during lap swimming and multi coloured LED set the mood for evening swimming and relaxing pleasure.  For heating high efficiency evacuated tube solar panels and a gas spa booster ensure the pool and spa is always ready to enjoy.

The Applecross II

The brief was to transform the original 5.4 x 2.3m pool, into an eighteen metre lap pool for the client and their family’s active lifestyle.

The pool was extended to sit between the house and boundary line. Maximising the available space, chemical grouting was employed to stabilise house footings, enabling us to construct against existing foundations. An extensive pool bench was created along the entire edge of the pool, to ensure the retaining wall was not compromised. The existing halogen lighting was replaced with niche LED lights throughout the pool. To ensure that the pool could be used all year round, which was important to the client, a heat pump & solar pool cover system was installed to guarantee a consistent warm temperature. Frameless glass fencing provides security and peace of mind to the client’s young family whilst not detracting from the pool and feature.

The Melville

Built on the side boundary of  a sloping block, this lap pool has been constructed partially out of ground, enabling the alfresco and surrounds to be at the same datum height making full & flowing use of an otherwise  awkward space. A full length high rise wall and water feature was constructed and clad to provide an attractive and functional screen.

A variable speed pump was employed to assist with reduced running costs and an chemical dosing system ensure the water is suitably balanced for swimming. The pool has a lane tile for swimming laps and an extended shallow ledge for the clients young family to enjoy. At night the pool and water feature’s LED lighting adds to the ambiance of this project.

This infinity edge lap pool overlooks a beautiful natural bush setting. The 15m length of the pool allows the client to maintain their active lifestyles and the swim out provides a perfect spot to relax and take in the surrounds. The internal finish perfectly complements the natural hues of the property, whilst the exterior spillover is clad with stacked stone providing a rustic effect and random water flow down the vertical face. Extensive LED lighting was incorporated in both the pool and spillover trough providing an illuminating display when viewed from the front boundary.

Pools by Design were the proud recipients of a 2014 SPASA WA award for this stunning infinity edge pool.

The design, bridge concept and colour palette was inspired by the clients personal experience at the Darwin Natural Spring located within the magnificent the Kakadu National Park.  A challenging site with limited access however this didn’t deter us from constructing for the client a bespoke a 12m Lap pool and spillover Spa. The Natural hues of the tile line, submerged seat and external spa cladding are complemented by the internal finish of Sandy Beach Rainbow Quartz. The  pedestrian access foot bridge adds unique form and function to this contemporary design.

This pool and Spa Combination was recognised as an award winning design and construction project at the 2014 SPASA WA Awards.

The Woodlands

, ,

This pool spa combo makes an entrance statement to the home, the Woodlands was designed to encapsulate and caress the house development. Constructing the pool prior to the home build allowed us to design the pool wall to sit abut the house wall. The spa is finished in glass mosaic tiles and features an integrated spillway which cascades into the lap pool. Working closely with the builder we were proud to exceeded all client expectations from this project.
